I’m Seona Gillies, a professional photographer based in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Photography has been my lifelong passion, but it wasn’t until my son, Oliver, came along in 2016 that I truly fell in love with capturing life’s fleeting moments. From his first smiles to everyday adventures, I found immense joy in preserving these memories.

Growing up, I was the one in the family always behind the camera, eager to document treasured memories. Before turning my passion into a profession, I spent 20 years as a primary school teacher—an experience that shaped my ability to work naturally and effortlessly with children.

After years of photographing for fun, I finally took the leap from hobbyist to professional, and Seona Gillies Photography was born. I specialise in candid photography, capturing the beauty of families, events, and mini sessions for children. To me, the ability to freeze a moment in time is simply priceless.

Thanks to my background in education, I naturally connect with children and families, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience. My clients often comment on my patience, something I honed over decades in the classroom! I truly love every second of my sessions, and even the most camera-shy or stubborn little ones don’t faze me.​ I aim to make my photography sessions laid-back, fun, and stress-free—so much so that the session itself becomes a cherished memory!
